Graduated in English and respective literature from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ - Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro). She has both CAE  and  CPE certificates, and 10 years ago she defended her Phd dissertation at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ - Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro) about how pandemics are represented in contemporary literature in English. She has been working as an English teacher for more than twenty years now, from working with children to preparing students for proficiency exams, such as Toefl and Cambridge. More recently, she attended several courses in translation and proofreading (including post-graduation courses) and worked in such areas for both private customers as well as small publishing houses, such as Editora Diário Macabro.
